Ostrovets Nuclear Powerplant is a double reactor nuclear power plant installed in the North West of Belarus. The two reactors with an individual capacity of 1,200 MW should enter in service by 2020. The project is built by Russian contractor Rosatom.

Dextra has been involved in supplying rebar connection solution through its local Russian fabricator partner.

Bartec, which is the main solution offered by Dextra in Russia, has been chosen for this project. Bartec offers a high level performance connection why requiring only a standard coupler for most applications.

Bartec was supported by a set of Bartec equipment installed at site. More than 1,200,000 Bartec couplers connections have been used for the two reactors in total.

Bartec connections were performed bar to bar or as prefabricated panels. Applications on Ostrovets include various rafts and walls in reactor and annexes buildings.

The reactors are planned to be commissioned between 2019 and 2020.
