Novovoronezh-II 1&2 | Нововоронежская АЭС II 1&2
Novovoronezh II is a nuclear power plant complex located at Voronezh Oblast, West of Russia. The project started close to another nuclear site (I) with 3 reactors already decommissioned.
Novovoronezh II features two reactor type VVER 1200, which will ultimately produce 2 x 1200 MW of electrical power.
For this project Dextra provided contractor Atomstroyexport with its Bartec rebar coupler solution used in various part of the superstructure.
For nuclear projects, which are usually quite remote, Bartec equipment is transported directly to the construction site in its "plug & play" container. After set up and training by Dextra teams, the equipment can then be operated by site workers which can deliver threaded rebar according to planning in a very reactive manner
The first unit of Novovoronezh-II was completed in 2016 and started commercial operations in 2017. The second unit is planned for completion in 2017.
Two additional units may be added in the coming years.
