Bartec position splicing solutions for Rooppur NPP’s reactor buildings
For the reinforcement splices in the most critical areas, the contractor Atomstroyexport and subcontractor Trest-Rossem trust the proven Bartec coupler by Dextra, a solution that has been certified for nuclear power plants of Russian design and is being used in numerous projects inside and outside of Russia.
Almost 300,000 Bartec position splices of diameters up to 36, many of them with locknuts, have been built into the rebar cage of the reactor buildings and adjacent structures of the nuclear island. Position splices assure the connection of rebar that cannot be rotated, while the locknut maintains the bars in a specific position.
